Inspiration
First off is a video you may find inspiring if you are wondering how you can make money from your music. Enjoy!
Music sales and downloads
Some suggestions…
Bandcamp is a great service. Here fans can listen to your music and download it, and you can choose between giving your music away, setting a price for it, and letting fans name the price. It’s a free service. To see how it works, go to the page of a friend of ours, Seamus Anthony on bandcamp.
CD Baby has a great reputation. They…
- sell your physical CDs
- sell your tracks as digital downloads
- organise to put your tracks on iTunes
- get codes for you, such as ISRC and the bar code for your CD cover
- are very reasonably priced
ReverbNation is a very useful network, and it integrates really well with Facebook—you can use it to play your music on your Facebook page.
CD replication & duplication
CD replication involves making a glass master and stamping out CDs from it. All places we have come across do this for a minimum of 500 CDs, and it is cheaper per unit to go for this.
CD duplication involves burning blank CDs, and is the method to use if you want smaller quantities. You can do 100 CDs for just over $300, with full disc and jewel case printing.
Some CD copying places for you to check out.:
- Multi-Tech in Footscray - ring them for prices and their range of services.
- Implant Media in Brunswick
- MultipliCD in Toorak (replication only)
